Qualcomm continues to narrow the gap between premium soc and mid-range chip with the release of Snapdragon 730. The new chip is a direct successor of Snapdragon 710 and offers 25% improved performance according to AnTuTu test result.
The Snapdragon 730 is built on the 8nm process with improved Kryo 470, clocking at 2.2GHz CPU frequency speed, improving the performance by 30% compared to the previous generation. Its coupled with Adreno 618 GPU for enhanced graphics, with maximum on-display support: FHD+ (18:9) of 2520 x 1080 and up to 4k external display support.

Snapdragon 730 phones will come with Qualcomm Spectra 350 Image Processor camera module. It’s designed to support a single camera up to 36MP or 22MP dual arrangement and can capture slow-mo videos up to 720p@240fps. It can also capture up to 4K Ultra HD videos @30fps, 1080p@120fps, and up to 4K Ultra HD premium video playbacks.
Behind the fast network connectivity is Snapdragon X15 Lite modem with multi Dual sim support. The peak download speed can reach up to 800Mbps while the upload can reach up to 150Mbps.

The Redmi K20 also known as Redmi 9T becomes the first ever phone to run the Snapdragon 730 SoC. It debuted alongside Redmi K20 Pro, a more premium version with Snapdragon 855, currently on sale now for just $449. You can get a deal from here.
Meanwhile, Redmi K20 has a big 6.39-inch AMOLED display with HDR support to make all screen activities a pleasant experience. Its nearly bezel-less with the 20.1MP selfie camera mounted on a mechanical pop-up. The primary 48MP main camera, 8MP telephoto, and 13MP ultra-wide lens are mounted vertically at the back with a Dual-LED Flash.

Lenovo Z6 makes our list of Snapdragon 730 phones as second to the Redmi K20 (Mi 9T). It’s built from Magnesium Alloy and has a 3D glass back, which also houses the triple camera setup. The arrangement includes a 24MP main cam, 8MP telephoto lens, and 5MP depth sensor snapper.
On the front panel, embedded on the teardrop notch is a 16MP selfie snapper. There’s also an on-screen scanner underneath the 6.39-inch OLED display of 1080 x 2340pixel resolution. The device has 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10 and DCI-P3 color gamut.

Samsung Galaxy A80

Samsung officially joins the likes of Xiaomi, Asus, in unveiling a device with Snapdragon 730 processor. The Samsung Galaxy A80 is only the second device after Asus Zenfone 6 to feature a rotating camera module.
The camera features a 48MP f/2.0 main shooter, followed by an 8MP Ultra-wide angle lens, and a 3D depth camera for live focusing. There’s no snapper at the front, rather when a user selects selfie mode, the three cameras at the backs pop-ups and rotates to the front.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A80 has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ New Infinity Super AMOLED display, with an astonishing 20:9 aspect ratio panel. The body is made using 3D glasses with metal coming in the frame. There’s in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, while the 3700mAh battery that supports 25W Super Charging, ensure you get enough power.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro (Mi Note 10)

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is a premium mid-range device. It features a massive battery, Penta camera, Ultra-thin fingerprint scanner, curved AMOLED display, and affordable price tag. The device answers Mi CC9 Pro in China and Mi Note 10 globally.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro beats every device on our list of Snapdragon 730 phones with its compelling features. It has a 6.47-inch 1080p display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There’s a notch that houses the 32MP front snapper, and there’s a new Ultrathin in-display fingerprint scanner underneath the display.
At the back is a Penta camera arrangement, and from the top is a 5MP telephoto lens. It has 4-axis OIS, 5x zoom, and 50x on digital zoom. The 12MP telephoto lens comes with 2x zoom, followed by the primary 108MP wide snapper. It features an F/1.7 8P lens, coupled with 1/33″ sensor size to overtake both iPhone 11 and Mate 30 Pro as the best camera phones. The Fourth lens is a 20MP ultra-wide sensor, followed by a 2MP macro lens with a 1.5cm focal length, the highest for any smartphone.

Xiaomi POCO X2

The POCO is back with the launch of the X2, a rebranded Redmi K30. The device runs Snapdragon 730G and is the fourth Xiaomi phone on our list of SD 730 phones.
POCO X2 sports a 6.67-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which underneath is a dual-hole for the 20MP and 2MP camera sensors. The back camera is Quad primary 64MP, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.
Power will be drawn from a 4500mAh battery that supports 27W fast charge via USB-C port. Outside the box, you get MIUI 11 on top Android 10.
Redmi K30
Redmi K30 makes it the third Xiaomi phone to grace our list of Snapdragon 730 phones. However, the device runs the Game-centric version of the processor -730G.
The phone revolves around a 6.67-inch display of 1080 x 2400p resolution. On the display is a dual-hole for the 20MP and 2MP selfie shooter while at the back panel is Quad camera arrangement. The primary 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.
The SD 730G is paired with up to 8GB RAM and expandable 256GB internal storage. It supports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and will draw power from a 4500mAh battery, which supports 27W fast charge via USB-C. The fast charge will give you a fully charged battery under 68 minutes.
Outside the box, the device will run Android 10 based on MIUI 11. You will be able to choose from Red, Purple, and Blue colors, starting from $180.

The list of Snapdragon 730 phones have a few device on it at the moment, but we expect phones to start debuting with the Soc in the coming weeks. Smartphone companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo are likely to carry the first phase of the new mid-ranger, but until a phone debut with the Snapdragon 730, only then will our list be updated.
