Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro specs
Redmi Note 8 Pro has a sleek design and looks more like the recently introduced Mi CC9 and CC9e. It has a tin bezel, with the one at the bottom just 4.2mm thick. At the back is a triple-camera sensor arranged vertically at the center with the fingerprint scanner, while the fourth lens sits beside it along an LED Flash.
All the four edges of the device are curved to give a decent look and also a firm grip. You’ll find both the volume rocker and power button at the right side of the panel. The device will be available in Black, Green and white colors.
Display
There’s an increase in the screen size when you compare with the Redmi Note 7 Pro, which measures 6.3-inch diagonally. Redmi Note 8 Pro, however, sports a 6.53-inch IPS LCD of 1080 x 2340px Full HD+ resolution, and will be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Both Redmi Note 7 Pro and Note 8 Pro are likely to offer the same performance, except in size where the former will give you a bigger screen.
Performance
Redmi Note 8 Pro is the first Smartphone to debut the new MediaTek Helio G90T SoC, built on 12nm process. The SoC implements 2x Cortex-A76 core clocking at 2.0GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 at 1.7GHz. It accompanied by 6/8GB RAM and 64/128GB ROM with an option for expansion.
The device comes with a Liquid cooling chamber that’ll help disseminate heat from the gaming rated Chipset. It means that you’ll always get peak performance with your Redmi Note 8 Pro regardless of the amount of task. Out-of-the-box, the device will run Android 9 based on MIUI 10.
Camera
For the first time, a smartphone is debuting with the new 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with quad-binning pixel technology. At the back of Redmi Note 8 Pro, is a total of 4 cameras, which includes 64MP shooter, an 8MP ultrawide wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro shooter. The front camera features a 20Mp snapper fully equipped with AI and face recognition.
From the numbers, the camera on the Note 8 Pro already beats that on the predecessor, and with an extra lens, all shots will forever be exquisite.
Security
It’s disappointing that Redmi has to make use of a capacitive scanner instead of ultrasonic in-display reader. You’ll find the scanner down the camera column, which is expected to unlock your device in a matter of nanoseconds.
Battery
Redmi added extra 500mAh to the Redmi Note 8 Pro as regards what is present in the Note 7 Pro. It simply means one thing, more power and with 18W Quick Charge you won’t spend all day refilling. You also get ample of power on a single charge with the efficient processor and Liquid cooling chamber technology.
Redmi Note 8 Pro Price and Availability
The device will arrive in China in September and will be available in both offline and online retail shops. The 6/64GB memory option will set you back CYN 1,399 ($195) while the 8/128GB option will cost CYN 1,799 ($250).
Redmi Note 8 Pro specs is a decent upgrade from the Redmi Note 7 Pro. With those features and coupled with the affordable price tag, it has everything to complete with Realme XT. Remember that Redmi Note 7 series has already sold over 7m units in just a couple of months, which means the Note 8 series will try to beat that number on a short time frame.
