The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is already unveiled after a long wait with a lot of impressive hardware features (but that’s not all). A software update (OneUI 5.1) although based on Android 13 debuted with the phone. Still, the brand is not done as the Galaxy S23 series will be receiving a new camera update.
Samsung Galaxy S23 series new camera update
According to Ice Universe, a renowned tipster, Samsung is aiming to issue a major upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. This update’s main focus is camera optimization. Some Galaxy S23 customers complained on Reddit about the photos they were taking with their phones. This includes the top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra, which has a 200MP HP2 image sensor from Samsung.
The main camera of the Galaxy S23 Ultra produces roughly 12MP photos using 16:1 pixel binning. Yet, because pixel binning enables more data to be stored in each pixel, the resulting photographs are expected to be sharper, with less noise and a wider dynamic range. Yet, this does not exclude the photographic systems of all three models from benefiting from a tune-up.
As one Reddit subscriber wrote, “So we have a phone that disconnects from Wi-Fi all the time, can’t stay connected to its s pen, and now can’t take appropriate photos with a supposed amazing camera lens. The longer I have my S23 Ultra the more I’m starting to feel that Samsung made a terrible phone…I was recently at a comedy show and noticed that I couldn’t take photos that stayed focused (sic) either regardless of what mode I used.”
Apart from concerns with the images taken by the Galaxy S23 line’s rear cameras, customers of the Galaxy S23 series are experiencing shutter latency. ElGuano, a Reddit user (in another thread), explained how this has been occurring to Samsung phones for years and received a lot of grief from supporters who tried to divert the issue as being about outdated phones. Nonetheless, it appears that shutter lag is one of the most often cited issues concerning the S23.
