Google is rolling out a new update for the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 users. These phones elapsed their support period in November 2023, which was the reason they didn’t receive an Android 14 and have been on the November 2023 security patch until now. However, with the new update nothing changed, hinting at minor bug fixes.
Google Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 received their last update in November 2023, after 3 years of support. The duo has been on the November patch since then after missing out on Android 14. Unfortunately, nothing has changed with the new update rolling out for devices, as it doesn’t bump the security patch level or the OS version.
The new update is supposedly to address minor bugs, as there is no official list of changes coming with the update. Nevertheless, we recommend installing the update if you haven’t flashed a custom ROM yet. It has a build number UP1A.231105.001, and you can download the OTA or Factory Image from the source link.
Why is Google rolling out a new update to Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5?
There’s no official list of changes coming with the update, but we see updates for devices that have elapsed their support period when there is a serious security vulnerability. The latest update is probably one of those updates, and we recommend installing it when prompted. You can download it via Settings>>System>>System update.
