If you have multiple Google accounts, you may wonder if you can use them simultaneously on your Android phone. Fortunately, you can manage multiple Google accounts on one profile.

Add One or Multiple Google Accounts to Your Device

Here is a detailed guide on how to add one or multiple Google accounts to your device. So, let’s dive in!

Adding Additional Google Accounts

Assuming you’ve set up one Google account already, here’s how to add a second one:

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account.
  • Choose Google from the list.
  • Provide your email address and password.
  • Enter a two-factor authentication code if you have one set up.
  • You may need to confirm your account using a backup email address or phone number.
  • Once signed in, Android will automatically set up your new Google account.

Setting Up the New Google Account

To manage individual sync settings for each account, follow these steps:

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Google.
  • Select the account you want to manage.
  • Under Account sync, you can toggle various Google services.
  • To remove an account, tap the Remove Account button. This works for Google Apps for Work accounts.

How Adding a Google Account Affects Your Apps

Adding a Google account will affect several apps. Your Google account will connect to the following apps and features:

  • Calendar
  • Chrome
  • Contacts
  • Docs
  • Drive
  • Gmail
  • Google Fit data
  • Google News
  • Google Play
  • Google TV
  • Keep Notes
  • Play Games Cloud Save
  • Sheets
  • Tasks in Calendar

Plus, other apps that support Google login can also be affected.

Gmail

If you synced your Gmail account, multiple accounts will appear in the Gmail app. You can switch between inboxes by tapping your profile icon in the top-right corner. Furthermore, you can customize your inbox and notification settings via the account settings menu.

Chrome

You can only sync one account at a time in Chrome. To review sync settings, tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner > Settings > Sync. While you’ll see a list of all your accounts when you tap the main account, you can’t switch between them or adjust individual settings. To use multiple Chrome profiles on Android, you’ll have to use a tool like Parallel Space.

Meet

Meet is one of the easiest Google tools to switch accounts in. Open the app, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner, select the desired account, and join a meeting with it.

Duo

Duo is tied to your phone number, and you can only associate it with one Google account at a time. However, you can switch accounts. Open the Duo app and tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Select Settings > Account, then choose Remove Google Account from Duo. To add another account, go to Settings and tap Add Account.

Hangouts

Similar to Gmail, Hangouts will show you a list of your accounts so you can manage multiple identities. Via Settings, you can make individual choices for each account.

Calendar

Your calendar can display events from multiple sources, and you can manage multiple calendars under one account. You can deselect all calendars listed under a specific profile.

Play Store

The Play Store supports multiple accounts. Tap your profile icon in the top-right to see your account options. Here, you can switch between accounts using the drop-down selection.

Final Words

There you have it on how to add one or multiple Google accounts to your device and manage them. The steps for using multiple Google accounts are quite similar for all Google apps. Just go through the steps above and you’re good to go!
