Over the years, Xiaomi Android One updates have been a disaster. We thought the company would learn from what happened with Mi A2 Lite last year, but no, they didn’t. It was even worse this time when the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 update was released a couple of weeks ago. Everyone who upgraded to Android 11 had their device bricked and revived after visiting the Mi service center. Well, it seems the bug that caused the hard brick has been fixed as the update started rolling out again.
Initially, Xiaomi had to pull the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 update from their servers after it was reported to be causing hard brick. They promised to restart the rollout again after they must have fixed the bugs. According to reports from multiple users, the update is coming back again, and this time, they were able to install it without bricking their device. However, just like Android 10, the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 bugs are as much.
Supposed Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 bugs
- Widevine security level issues: the Widevine security level on the Mi A3 after the Android 11 upgrade is level 3. Before the update, it was on level 1, and it might be hard to stream Full HD videos now.
- Slow charging and fast drain: it now takes about 12 hours to charge the Mi A3. Unfortunately, performing a factory reset won’t fix the issue.
- Chat bubbles not working
- In-built screen recorder removed: the screen recorder app comes with almost all Xiaomi phones. However, it seems the Android 11 update has removed the app.
- Screen and UI glitches
- The option to customize the app icon is also missing.
- Overall, the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 is buggy, and it would be better to wait for the next update.
However, if you can live with those bugs, then you can continue the installation. The bug that caused the hard brick has been fixed, but the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 11 bugs are so frustrating.
