There is a report on the internet claiming Xiaomi is about to introduce the Android 10 gesture navigation control with MIUI 11. We take that to be misinformation because Xiaomi Introduced gesture navigation control back in 2018 with MIUI 9.5. Going by what has been put online regarding how the gesture works, the proper words should be “Android 10 presented MIUI 9.5 gestures.”
From what’s on the internet:
“The latest MIUI 11 update enables the following gestures:
Swipe up from the bottom for the Home Screen
Swipe up from the bottom and pause for Open Recents
Swipe left or right form the full-screen indicator or bottom of the screen for Switch Between Apps
Swipe left or right from the edge of the screen to Go Back”
Xiaomi introduced the gesture navigation control in March 2018. At that time, Android Oreo was the latest Android operating system, and in August, Google released the Android Pie. It took Google 18 months to present gesture control on Android 10, and they copied Xiaomi Navigation completely.
As they say, the world isn’t fair and will always find a way to belittle your effort. Xiaomi UI is one of the best Android skin with the best features. MIUI has one of the best features present in any Android custom ROM.
However, it’s not that without any flaws, but the company is making a big effort to improve, and they are about to optimize even more with the MIUI 12.
If you’re using a Xiaomi phone, not minding the MIUI version, and you want to start using gesture navigation control, go to settings> Display> Full-screen display> Select Full-screen gestures.
Needless to say, Xiaomi isn’t about to introduce Android 10 gesture navigation control, it was Google that presented that of Xiaomi gesture control when they introduced the current Google Android operating system.
