It’s beginning to look like Android 10 on Redmi Note 8 will arrive with MIUI 12 after all. Xiaomi, in August 2019, announced the Redmi Note 8 and the Pro variant, with the former featuring SD 665 while the latter comes with the G90T Mediatek processor.
A lot of questions were asked about why Xiaomi decided to equip the Note 8 Pro with a Mediatek processor. According to many individuals, the chips heat up more compared to Qualcomm SoC, and also that it doesn’t get a timely update. Many people believed that after Xiaomi released its MIUI 11 roadmap last year, which had Redmi Note 8 Pro in December for the update.
However, Note 8 Pro received the much important Android 10 update months ago while the Note 8 is waiting with no official time frame as to when it will arrive. However, a report earlier has it that Android 10 on Redmi Note 8 will arrive with MIUI 12. Considering how things have turned out since then, that’s likely to be true.
Xiaomi today, released a poster hinting at the official announcement for its new MIUI 12 update. The company has earlier confirmed that it has suspended the development of MIUI 11, meaning all focus is now on the next User Interface. As such, we would expect any OS update to be integrated with MIUI 12.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the MIUI 12 update will start seeding, but we expect to find out after the April 27TH announcement. But one thing is certain here, Android 10 on Redmi Note 8 is sure considering how Xiaomi rolls out updates to its mid-range phones. It has been one major (OS) update to lower-end phones, and since the Note 8 debuted, and is still in Android Pie, it will certainly get the Android 10 update.
