The Redmi Note 9 Pro first received a stable Android 11 update back in November 2020. It’s among the few Xiaomi phones to receive the update but could only extend to other regions recently. The global users started picking up the build a couple of weeks ago, and now, the Android 11 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro in Europe has been released. However, it’s currently on a limited rollout, meaning only Mi Pilots are getting the build for preview.
Xiaomi has brought the Android 11 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro to Europe seven months after the release in India. The reason is only due to one thing, bugs. Till today, Xiaomi is yet to fix all the bugs introduced by the update, and hence, we recommend you take precautions before upgrading your device to Android 11. That said, you should back up your data before downloading and installing the update in a situation where a factory reset is required after upgrading.
According to feedback, 80% of the bugs encountered after upgrading to Android 11 are fixed after a factory reset. However, it won’t solve the third-party launcher compatibility issues and notification bugs. Also, the keyboard overlaps when using floating Windows, but we hope for a fix in subsequent builds.
Meanwhile, the Android 11 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro in Europe has a build number – MIUI 12.0.1.0 RJZEUXM. It brings a stable MIUI based on Android 11, the May 2021 security patch to increase system security, and renamed GPS toggle as location. There has been an adjustment on Mi cloud where location info is now reported automatically before the device is powered off. Of course, you get all the features baked inside Android 11.
