Google announced a couple of weeks ago when it released the Android 12 beta 4 that the build has reached platform stability. The company then asked developers to start testing app compatibility with the new version of Android OS. That has been going on nicely with Xiaomi ahead of the pack in terms of testing. The company has already rolled out an MIUI based Android 12 update to closed beta testers in China. And going by a recent report, they’re now recruiting Android 12 stable beta testers.
If the reports are legit, Google will release the stable Android 12 in early October. That’s a few days from now, and with Xiaomi now recruiting Android 12 stable beta testers, we expect a stable release soon. Interestingly, this current recruitment is for global users, and hence, if you’d like to test Android 12 when it’s released, you should follow the steps below to apply.
How to become Android 12 Stable Beta Tester
The current recruitment is open for everyone globally. However, you must be running the Global stable ROM to be eligible. To check your current ROM version, head over to Settings>>About phone>>MIUI version. If there’s “MI” on it, then you can apply to become an Android 12 stable beta tester.
However, only those using the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11, and Mi 11i are eligible to apply for now. Also, if you’re currently a stable beta tester, you need to apply for the Android 12 test. According to Xiaomi, “users with outstanding performance in this testing can continue to retain the testing qualifications and participate in subsequent testings.” The recruitment is also based on first come first serve, with 200 users wanted for each device.
Meanwhile, before submitting your application, know that you’re about testing Android 12. It’ll probably contain some bug, which you’re expected to report to developers. If you can’t deal with that, you shouldn’t apply and wait for a stable release. However, if you wish to continue, follow this link and apply.
