The Android 13 has made its way to the technology world following its announcement at Google’s I/O conference two weeks ago. Beta releases were made available to users and they brought some impressive features. Meanwhile, a mid-cycle update for Android 13 Beta 2.1 is now available.
Four issues were brought up by end-users and also from developers’ reports and it seems this minor update brought in some fixes as well as stability improvements. The update for the Android 13 Beta 2.1:
- Fixes an issue where typing in the search bar resulted in a blank list of suggestions
- Fixes an issue where devices would crash and also restart when turning on the hotspot
- Fixes an issue where continuous call dialling sound could be heard in the background during a phone call
- Fixes an issue where devices would crash and restart after disconnecting from the Android Auto.
Although we still get a minor update that fixes the issue of the search bar, the Pixel launcher search remains broken with the Android 13 Beta 2.1 installed. The build number of the update is TPBB.220414.018 and it takes about 12MB to install on the Google Pixel 4a. Adding to those fixes the Beta 2 package remains on the May security patch.
