While you just have to applaud Samsung for rolling out updates to a vast majority of Galaxy smartphones, it can’t just be helped that some smartphones will have to be left behind. Fortunately, that’s why we have custom ROMs. An Android 13 for Galaxy S9 and Note 9 is now available thanks to very hardworking developers.
Further details on the Android 13 for Galaxy S9 and Note 9
One UI 5.0 is Samsung’s Android 13 version, and while it is available for a variety of devices, the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 are not among them. The 2018 duo’s support ended in mid-to-late 2022, and neither was eligible for further OS upgrades beyond Android 10.
Samsung has certainly stepped up in the last 18-24 months, offering some of the longest support windows on the Android platform. While that’s wonderful for prospective purchasers today, if you’re still using the Galaxy S9 or Note 9, you might want to consider third-party solutions like Noble ROM to get the Android 13 for Galaxy S9 and Note 9 as well.
According to XDA, Noble ROM 3.0, which has been transferred to the Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 9, is now available with Android 13 and One UI 5.0. AlexisXDA has modified the official Android 13 seen on the Galaxy Note 10 Lite so that it can work on this older hardware.
Unfortunately, Noble ROM 3.0(Android 13 for Galaxy S9 and Note 9) is now only available for Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note 9 Exynos 9810 versions. That implies you won’t be able to flash Android 13 on your Galaxy S9 or Note 9 if you have a Qualcomm-powered North American model. Full instructions on how to get started may be found in the official help thread, which can be accessed via the link below.
