Bringing in interesting features like improved security and privacy control, smart home access, Material You palette, and audio and media enhancements among other amazing feats, the Android 13 is sure to live up to its expectations. However, it has been noticed that the just released stable Android 13 update came in with broken RCS messaging on mobile data.
While the update brought in over 150 bug fixes across Pixel devices, it is accompanied by broken RCS messaging. RCS, Rich communication services, an analogous software to the iMessage on the iOS platform. The RCS delivers high-quality images and videos, typing indicators, read receipts and even a higher character limit than Sms messaging.
Sources have reported that Google Fi subscribers notice a broken RCS messaging on the Pixel smartphones while using mobile data and then it gains its functionality when switched to WiFi. This report isn’t new as sources spotted complaints of broken RCS messaging even from users in the Android 13 beta pathway.
An individual said, “Anytime I leave my WiFi it drops the chat service connection. It never reconnects till I get back home”. This probably means that he/she had to connect back to WiFi before the service came back on.
A probable fix for broken RCS messaging
A Googler has provided a solution to Google Fi users and you might just try it out.
