Google has officially announced the stable Android 14 release later today. The update will start seeding at 10 a.m. PT later today for Pixel phones. Xiaomi has also confirmed the release of a stable Android 14-based MIUI 14 update for its phones.
Xiaomi will start seeding the stable Android 14-based MIUI 14 update to the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 12T users from October 4, 2023, which is today. The update will be available to only those who registered for beta testing. However, the company is still recruiting new members, hence, you can join to receive the update before others.
While the build is a stable beta release, it’s likely to contain bugs, which is normal. It takes time for apps to adapt to new Android OS upgrades, and that causes overheating and app crashes. We don’t recommend installation on a daily driver, but if you’re ready to live with minor bugs, you can register to receive the stable Android 14-based MIUI 14 update.
How to register to receive Android 14-based MIUI 14 update
Unfortunately, only global users are eligible to register. You can follow this link to complete the registration. However, Xiaomi says only 2000 members will be recruited for each model, meaning it’s based on first come, first served. Also, be ready to visit the service center if your device won’t turn on after installing the update.
When will the Android 14-based MIUI 14 update be released for everyone?
Depending on feedback from the initial release, Xiaomi might release the update for everyone this month. The initial release is to find out if the build is stable enough for a daily driver. If that’s the case after the first release, we are likely to see a stable Android 14-based MIUI 14 update roll out for everyone this month.
Meanwhile, the update will arrive for Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 12T first. We expect other premium phones to receive the update later in the year.
