Google has been working on the next Android OS for months. The tech company reached the Android 15 platform stability a few weeks ago and is now rolling out another update. With the Android 15 beta 4 update, the company moved closer to releasing a stable Android 15 update.
The latest release is the last scheduled update for this preview cycle. However, Google will most likely release point updates to resolve issues and improve performance before the build is stable for daily use.
Meanwhile, Google has already finalized developer APIs and all app-facing behaviors. There will be no more changes in the future, but developers should be aware of how Android 15 removes the legacy PNG-based emoji font file (NotoColorEmojiLegscy.ttf).
Of course, the update is only available for beta testers. It has a build number AP31.240617.009 and comes with the July 2024 security patch. You can check the update if you’re a registered beta tester or download the Factory Image or OTA via the source link.
