A few days after the release of the Android Auto 10.4 stable update, Google is sending a new build to beta testers. The latest update is Android Auto 10.5 beta, which doesn’t seem to bring any notable features, as Google keeps focusing on improving users’ experience with Android Auto.
After testing and releasing the CoolWalk redesign, it took a while before the feature got to everyone. The same could be said about new additions that have been rolling out. With every new Android Auto update, Google releases a new feature for some people. The Google Maps redesign and Assistant Glow are still rolling out, and you might want to upgrade to the latest version if you’re yet to get these features.
Meanwhile, the Android Auto 10.5 beta update is exclusive to testers, but you can side-load the APK file on your Android running Android OS 8 and later. As expected, Google is improving app performance and resolving issues with its latest release. Unfortunately, there’s no changelog, and we can’t say what issues were resolved.
Nevertheless, we are sure the freezing bug that leaves part of the screen unresponsive isn’t fixed. The issue with sound quality degrading after initiating voice assistance or making a phone call is still there, which Google says they won’t be fixing it. If you have these issues, you might want to install an older version of Android Auto, which doesn’t have those bugs.
