Google has started testing a new update for Android Auto. The latest update is exclusive to beta testers, though you can download it and install it on your device. However, we recommend waiting for the stable release as previous Android Auto updates introduced some bugs, which Google is still trying to fix with all these new updates.
The Android Auto 11.6 beta update is rolling out for beta testers for preview. It will last a few days before the update starts seeding to the public, assuming no bug is detected.
As usual, the latest update didn’t come with a changelog, making it hard to say the changes Google has made. According to reports, it is one of those updates that resolve issues and improve performance since no new feature was detected.
However, Google has been working on some new features for Android Auto, which they have been rolling out in batches: the AI-powered message summary and ability to use your device wallpaper on the infotainment screen. These features are yet to arrive for everyone, and with each new update, Google brings support for more people.
We believe the latest has enabled the feature for some people while also fixing bugs and optimizing performance. We haven’t heard of a new bug, hence, we recommend installing the update, but you can always uninstall it if you encounter any problems.
