Google keeps pushing new updates to Android Auto to improve performance and resolve bugs. We have seen a few releases in the past few weeks, and so far, there have not been too many complaints. The latest Android Auto 11.9 beta update brings new features to limit distractions while driving. We think it is something you might want to enable.
Android Auto tries to limit distraction when we drive by mirroring our smartphone display to the car’s infotainment system. Google keeps improving the app, and with every update, we get new features to improve interaction with our phones while driving without any distractions.
Google introduced AI message summary a couple of weeks ago, and now, they have introduced an option to disable message notifications entirely. Of course, there is an option to make sure you do not miss important notifications. With “Notification with Assistant,” Android Auto will send your notifications to Google, which will use the Assistance to play the message loud.
We understand Google did not release the feature with Android Auto 11.9 but is enabling it for more people. It is a server-side release, meaning it is not tied to any version of Android Auto. You can check if your device has the feature by heading to Android Auto>>Settings>>Messaging.
In addition, the Android Auto 11.9 beta update has resolved bugs and optimized performance. Unfortunately, only those participating in the beta program can install the update, but you can side-load the APK file.
