It has only been a few days since Google released Android Auto v14.5 to stable users, and a new update is rolling out. Interestingly, the latest release is available for Beta and stable users, meaning you can install it via Play Store. Of course, you can side-load the app if you want using the link below.

Android Auto is one of the most supported Google Apps, with a new update arriving each fortnight. These updates focus on improving performance and resolving bugs but can hint at new features. While that has been the case in the past, the Android Auto 14.6 update doesn’t seem to have revealed any upcoming additions. Additionally, there is no changelog, so we do not know what features are arriving with the build or the issues that have been resolved.
Nevertheless, the update seems to focus on improving performance and resolving issues. Of course, we know Google is working on a few additions. They highlighted them during the I/O event, and we expect some of them to start rolling out soon since they are tied to Android 16. Google has already released the stable build to Pixel phones, and we expect other OEMs to do so in the coming days.
One of the much-anticipated features coming to Android Auto is the Video app support and browsers. It has been over a year since the feature was announced but did not make it to users. However, it seems Google finally unlocked it with Android 16 and we expect wider availability in the coming weeks.
When Google finally brings video app support to Android Auto, users will be able to watch YouTube on their car display. Of course, YouTube has been available with third-party apps, but Google will bring it to stock app. Browsers will allow users to navigate the web, but only when their vehicle is parked.
While these are amazing features, we still don’t know if they are worth it, given that people will soon find a way around it. For example, making YouTube work while the vehicle is moving. Nevertheless, we wait until the support arrives to see how Google mitigates these potential issues.
Details of the Android Auto 14.6 update
Google is rolling out the update in Beta and stable channels. The former is seeding with version number v14.6.6524 while the latter can be identified as v14.6.1523. If you are part of the stable channel, you can download the update via the Play Store or use this link to access the beta build (APK).
As usual, the update might contain some bugs or glitches, but it’s something you can resolve by uninstalling it. You can roll back to an older version to resolve such a problem.
