Android Auto has been getting many tweaks in recent months. The split-screen mode(a new redesign), one-tap message replies, and sadly Android Auto has been limited to car screens, which makes phone screen users revert to Google Assistant Driving mode. Amidst all these activities going on with Android Auto, the Android Auto 7.9 update is now available.
The Android Auto 7.9 update is now available for those users who signed up for the public beta. However, there aren’t any noticeable changes to Android Auto via the update. The update can be gotten via the Play store, although not for everyone. While there aren’t any specific changes in the new version, Google is probably going to enhance the Galaxy S22 connection issues and Auto’s redesign which came into the limelight at the I/O, although still not live.
Users can still get version 7.8 while the Android Auto 7.9 update rolls out
Even as the Big G rolls out Android Auto 7.9 update, those who previously enrolled on the stable update track are seeing the Android Auto 7.8 update present on their devices. Meanwhile, just as the official changelog wasn’t revealed in the case of version 7.9, that’s what seems to play out in version 7.8 as well.
Version 7.8 was proposed by sources to be an enhancement in the setup process, however, users said they were facing setup issues where their cars repeat the setup process several times.
That said, you should bear in mind that Android Auto updates reach different devices at different times and as such, some users might be seeing the 7.9 or the 7.8 or even the 7.7 update on their devices, but still, this doesn’t jeopardize Android Auto’s user experience.
