With Android 15 not ready till October, Google shipped the Pixel 9 series phones with stable Android 14. It was not long until the phones got the Android 15 beta update, but that seems to have introduced some issues, especially for Android Auto users.
Google started testing Android 15 in February, but the recent development, perhaps, proves why the update isn’t ready for a stable rollout. The company still has some issues to resolve, which should include the recent problems with Android Auto on Pixel 9.
Users have taken to Reddit and Google’s Issue Tracker to report that Android Auto is not working on their Pixel 9. It seems exclusive to those running the recently released Android 15 beta update, as those on stable Android 14 aren’t experiencing the bug.
Android Auto fails to work on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL, disconnects, or fails after some seconds or minutes. We understand it’s the same for both wired and wireless connections. Reverting to Android 14 will probably address the bug, but you will lose all your data. Unfortunately, you are likely to receive a fix for the issue with the stable Android 15 to the Pixel 9 series next month.
