Apple has not officially announced the iPhone 16 series, but you might think they have with the many iPhone 17 rumors that have been seen on the internet lately. The latest news is about the iPhone 17 Slim, expected to replace the iPhone Plus model.
Reports over the past few months suggested Apple wants to move on from the Plus model. It seems the idea is to replace it with a “Slim” variant. Perhaps a record-breaking thin phone for the Apple iPhone, given the name, which took inspiration from the iPad Pro.
Supposedly, the iPhone 17 Slim will feature a 6.6-inch screen with 1260 x 2740 resolution. As usual, it will run A19 Bionic chips with A19 Pro variants exclusive to the Pro phones. Luckily, it will have Dynamic Island and a titanium alloy on the frame but a lower percentage of titanium compared to the Pro variants.
Apple will finally equip the iPhone 17 Slim with its 5G Chip. And in a time when OEMs are trying to fit in as many camera sensors, there will be one single rear camera on the device. Apple is believed to “emphasize innovative form factor design rather than competing on hardware specifications.” Hence, the company is prioritizing looks with the iPhone 17 Slim.
Ming-Chi Kuo, the renowned Apple tipster, is the person who revealed the recent details of the Apple iPhone 17 Slim. According to him, Apple wants to axe the iPhone Plus as it doesn’t make as much sales, with the models accounting for only 5% to 10% of iPhone sales. It is left to see if the supposed iPhone 15 Slim will surpass these numbers, given its supposed rear camera.
