It’s no news that the Apple brand just unveiled its new flagship series, the iPhone 14. We get the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus alongside the Pro series with a lot of interesting features to explore. Well, some rumours were talking about whether we’re getting a Plus or Max variant, all the predictions ended yesterday as the brand settled with a Plus.
Apart from that, there are still other things to notice with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the non-Pro versions of the iPhone 14. First, we’re not getting a mini like the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 is the cheapest version of the lineup standing at 6.1 inches. And then the Plus is a max size with a 6.7-inch screen.
Features of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
First up, it is worth noticing the iPhone 14 Plus will pass for the iPhone with the best battery life, even compared to its Pro siblings. I meant you can get up to 26 hours of video on the smartphone. On the regular iPhone 14, it’s 20 hours of video and then 14 and 19 on the iPhone 13 lineup. The size of the iPhone 14 Plus leading to an improvement in the cooling system makes the Plus variant the best for gaming in the lineup.
Although the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus doesn’t take up the new A16 Bionic chipset, they house two 5-Core GPUs of the A15 Bionic present in the higher iPhone 13 lineup. There seem to be improvements in the camera hardware of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
They still house the 12MP cameras but the brand tweaks their apertures to enable them to capture 49% more light than the iPhone 13 counterpart. Thanks to the Photonic Engine, you can produce better photos from low light pictures. Notably, the brand promises 2x on the front camera, 2x on the ultrawide and 2.5x on the main camera. Videos are better on this pair as well, thanks to the Dolby Vision HDR and the max out of 4K resolution at 60fps.
The front camera on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus is a 12MP TrueDepth Camera-with autofocus for the first time-f/1.9 aperture allowing 38 percent more light than its predecessor. One other major improvement in this pair of smartphones has to be its connectivity.
There is support for esims now and what’s more, is that you can get multiple esims without going to the carrier’s office and you get Dual sim as well. Satellite connectivity is present on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, a feature that will prove useful when sending SOS messages. In addition, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus gets the crash detection present in the new Apple Watch series as well.
As for pricing the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus sit at $800/€1000 and $900/€1150 for the 128GB models. The smartphones are available in the 256GB and 512GB storage variants as well.
