Samsung will bring the Galaxy AI features to older phones alongside the April 2024 security patch. The latter is now available for the Galaxy S24 series in select regions, but we expect more countries to start getting the update soon.
Samsung has been consistent with security patch update releases. The Korea tech company is the first to release the latest patch update, and as expected, they are rolling out the April 2024 security patch update to eligible users. However, only the Galaxy S24 series phones are getting the update, with other phones expected to start getting it on Thursday with Galaxy AI features.
The April 2024 security patch update for Samsung phones is rolling out for the S24 units in South Korea with version number S92xNKSU1AXCA. It comes in a 797.83 MB package and brings some camera improvements. Those in Europe are getting a stable S92xBXXU1AXCA build, which weighs about 920.97 MB, while in India, the update has a firmware version S92xBXXU1AXCA and weighs 666.09 MB.
The new update is a security patch build, meaning it addressed some security vulnerabilities. However, we don’t know what these fixes are until the latest security patch bulletin is published. We know about the camera optimization;
- The camera’s white balance accuracy and exposure.
- Low-light image quality.
- Color accuracy in the ExpertRAW camera app.
- Text clarity in high-zoom shots.
- Support for videos with 480×480 pixels resolution in the Instant Slow-Mo feature
