Google Pixel Watch received another impressive software feature after the June 2023 update – it’s At a Glance. At a Glance is only accessible in the rectangular complication slot of the Utility watch face’s Modular II or Modular III layouts. (It should be available on third-party watch faces as well.) The complication is labeled as an extension of Assistant on the customization screen. That software powers the complication.
Further details on At a Glance for Google Pixel Watch
Upon installation, the Pixel Watch’s Assistant prompts users to grant access to their calendar, allowing for seamless integration with the device. By default, the watch displays the day and date, accompanied by an icon representing the current weather conditions and temperature. Interestingly, tapping on this weather display launches the dedicated Weather app instead of performing a search with the Assistant.
For those seeking to maximize the density of information on their watch face, the At a Glance complication comes into play. This feature enables users to view two pieces of information within a single area. It is anticipated that this complication will also provide upcoming event details along with a countdown displayed in minutes. However, at the time of reporting, this particular functionality had not been activated yet.
While the At a Glance complication appears to have been released recently through a server-side update, it did not accompany the June 2023 Pixel Feature Drop. The latest Feature Drop introduced expanded language compatibility for Google Assistant on Wear OS, including Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish, and Spanish.
As Google continues to develop and refine the Pixel Watch’s software, it is expected that additional capabilities and features will be added over time, bringing it closer to the functionality offered by its smartphone counterpart. Users can look forward to an evolving experience with ongoing updates and enhancements for their Pixel Watches.
