Qualcomm has officially released the successor of Snapdragon 660, Snapdragon 665. The new chip, unlike the predecessor, is made on the 11nm LLP process, expected to bring about improved battery performance. The Snapdragon 665 Soc implements 4 Kryo 260 cores, with the frequency clocking at 2GHz while the 4 lower clusters still clocks at 1.8GHz. Qualcomm continues to narrow the gap between premium soc and mid-range chip with the release of Snapdragon 730. The new chip is a direct successor of Snapdragon 710 and offers 25% improved performance according to AnTuTu test result. The Snapdragon 730 is built on the 8nm process with improved Kryo 470, clocking at 2.2GHz CPU frequency speed, improving the performance by 30% compared to the previous generation. Snapdragon 712 debuts with all the premium features of SD 710 S0C, but adds a performance boost to become the latest “powerhouse for gaming and beyond.” The new chip is built on the same 10-nm process while kryo 360 CPU, Adreno 616 GPU, Hexagon 685 DSP, all remained unchanged.
