The Big G has been fixing a lot of issues the Android community discovered. Last week, there were issues the Google Pixel 6 series users complained of which the company has attended to by providing updates and security patches to optimize the user’s experience. And now a new issue of Battery drain on Samsung devices has been traced to the Google message app.
In the Google Message app, one can easily take a picture and attach it to the email you’re sending to a friend. While trying to achieve this, there is a live camera feed that takes snapshots directly from the thumbnail or you can easily expand for a better view.
In the recent Google message app, Reddit had reported that there’s a bug in the app leaving the camera feed running even if it’s not on the screen but in the background, and this takes a toll on the battery as well as causes overheating for the device.
The solution to the battery drain on Samsung devices
According to 9to5google.com, an Android 12 privacy for camera and microphones has been used to track the issue. Once the camera is still running, there is a pop-up notification that appears on the top of the screen. The battery drain on Samsung devices generally can be solved by removing the Google message app from the recents.
Though sources revealed that Google has noticed the bug causing the battery drain on Samsung devices and has issued a new update to the users of the Google message app but we don’t know which version includes the fix.
You can also move to the app permission section and then to the messaging app. Then click on camera permission and press don’t allow. This should stop the issue of battery drain on Samsung devices as well as Google Pixel phones too.
