In the past few months, Smartphone makers have been reviewing their software support period upwards. The likes of Google and Samsung now offer seven years of support for their handsets. While we expect these phones to still be in good shape after years of usage, the same can’t be said about the battery. It’s necessary to know when to replace it, and Samsung is making it easy by introducing battery health on Samsung Galaxy phones.

Android started displaying battery health information in Android 14, but it’s limited to newer Pixel phones. Now, Samsung is introducing the same, and from available reports, we think it will be exclusive to S25 and newer models. The company might release it to older phones with One UI 7, but there’s no indication. It might as well come as a One UI 7.1 feature. Nevertheless, those rocking the latest flagship phones can check their battery health using the information below.
How to check the battery health on Samsung Galaxy phones
- Head to Settings and tap on battery
- Click on battery information to reveal the battery health
- There you will see:
- Battery status
- Battery level
- Battery Capacity
- Battery health
- Battery cycle count
- Manufactured date
- First used date
Aside from finding out battery health (on percentage), you can see cycle count, battery manufacturing date, and battery first used date.
Don’t be surprised when you see a date other than when you received your device as when the battery was first used. This is because batteries are tested for quality control and other things.
For Cycle count, it should be zero. Each count means discharging and juicing up the battery.
Meanwhile, we understand Samsung might have limited this feature to a particular region. Some users are not seeing it, though using the Galaxy S25 series. Perhaps they might be running old software, or it will arrive with the One UI 7.1 update.
There’s no news on whether the Galaxy S24 will get a battery health feature. Given that older Pixel phones didn’t get it when it first debuted, we doubt Samsung will bring older phones. We might be wrong, and we hope to find out soon.
