The Redmi Note 8 Pro has been the one receiving all the timely support, unlike the regular variant – Redmi Note 8. It’s been months since the Note 8 Pro received a stable Android 10, but the Note 8 remains in Android Pie and still has no ETA. Again, the stable MIUI 12 update is now arriving for the Note 8 Pro while there’s no ETA for both updates on the former.
However, the delay is believed to be caused by the adoption of Android 10, which is likely to arrive as a part of the MIUI 12 update. But while we’re still waiting for the update, the beta stable MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro has been released in India.
The update is currently arriving for those that enrolled for Beta testing in India. It’s arriving with a build number, “MIUI 12.0.0.3 QGGINXM”, and weighs in at 635MB. On the changelog is only two changes: optimized system performance and improved system security and stability. Aside from the changes in the changelog, the update updated the Android security patch, fixes minor bugs, and brings all the features of MIUI 12. Some of the features include Dark Mode, Floating Windows, Revamped System UI, Enhanced Privacy, New camera functions, and New Wallpapers.
As stated earlier, the update is arriving for Beta testers, hence, if you’re a member of the Mi Pilot, you should check system updates and see if the update has arrived on your phone. As for when the Beta stable MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro will be released for the public in India, it should take more or less two weeks.
Nevertheless, we’ll keep you updated in case the update starts arriving before the presume time frame. You should turn our notification on, so you get updates once we update this post.
