With more phones being released almost every month, it becomes demanding to support them all. Perhaps, that’s why an update policy is there to guide the company on how long to support a device before laying them off. However, it’s a different situation for a few Xiaomi phones that have been laid off from the closed beta testing. These devices haven’t reached their End Of Life (EOL) yet, but that isn’t far again.
Before the recent development, Xiaomi has been announcing that some of its phones will stop receiving Beta updates. With the recent close beta release, these devices have received their final beta builds. That means going forward, the company will not push updates to the affected devices, but that’s if they keep running a closed beta build. Hence, if you want to continue receiving updates, it’s recommended that you move to a stable ROM. That way, the device will continue to receive updates, but instead of weekly/daily, the updates will come quarterly.
In addition to the change of updates arrival, of course, the device won’t participate in testing new features. However, they’re likely to receive the MIUI 13 update. Interestingly, some of the features of the upcoming MIUI OS have already been released to closed beta groups. And hence, there’s a chance some of these phones already got them. Below are the phones that have stopped receiving Close Beta update
