Ahead of the December 28 official unveiling, Xiaomi has been teasing the upcoming Xiaomi 12 series phones. The company has also released some posters about the upcoming MIUI 13. It has been a doubt whether the flagship phones will run the next iteration of MIUI outside of the box. According to the latest poster, Xiaomi 12 series phones will come with MIUI 13.
It will be a year tomorrow the MIUI 12.5 debuted alongside the Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship phone. Surprisingly, the device debuted with MIUI 12 on top of Android 11. According to Xiaomi, the phone didn’t run MIUI 12.5 outside of the box because the User Interface wasn’t ready during production. We were hoping for Xiaomi 12 to debut with MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, but that’s not the case.
Xiaomi 12 series will run MIUI 13 outside of the box. It’s unclear what changed this time as both Mi 11 and Xiaomi 12 have the same production time frame. Perhaps, the MIUI 13 Custom Android skin has been in development before production on the upcoming XiaomI flagship started. That looks like it, as stable builds are expected to start seeding after that official unveiling.
A handful of Xiaomi phones will receive a stable MIUI 13 based Android 12 update after the unveiling with Xiaomi 12 first to run it. It will debut with MIUI 13, and we expect to see the changes tomorrow. Meanwhile, according to reports, there’ll be few changes as the company will continue to focus on stability and optimization. We hope to learn about the complete changes and features after tomorrow’s event.
