The December 2024 Google Play system update has been released, but no eligible phone has received the update. It usually starts rolling out by the end of the month, but with the changelog already published, we know what to expect when the update finally arrives.
The latest release brings new features and optimizations to Play Services, Play Store, and Play Store across all Android-supported devices. These are your smartphone, Android Automotive, Tablets, Chrome OS, and Wear OS. Meanwhile, some of these features are limited to developers, while some are for you but might take months to roll out.

With the December 2024 Google Play system update, the tech company rolls out a new developer device connectivity feature. It’s for Google and third-party app developers to support Device Connectivity related to their apps. There are now access cards on wearables, while Google Wallet is now available in more countries.
