In today’s digital age, taking photos on our smartphones has become a regular part of our lives. With the advancement of technology, our smartphones now have the ability to store thousands of photos. However, as our photo collections grow, we may face the issue of running out of storage space on our devices. This is where iCloud comes in handy. iCloud is a cloud-based storage service that allows us to store our photos and other data in the cloud, freeing up space on our devices. But how do we delete photos from our iPhones while keeping them in iCloud? Here are some ways to do it

Delete Photos From Your iPhone

1. Use a Third-party App

There are several third-party apps available that can help you manage your iCloud storage and delete photos from your iPhone while keeping them in iCloud. One such app is Google Photos, which offers free unlimited photo storage in the cloud. You can use the app to upload your photos to Google Photos and then delete them from your iPhone. The photos will still be accessible from your other devices and the Google Photos website.

2. Turn on iCloud Photo Library:

iCloud Photo Library allows you to upload your photos to iCloud and access them from any device. Turning on iCloud Photo Library will automatically upload your photos to iCloud and keep them in sync across all your devices. This means that you can delete photos from your iPhone without losing them, as they will still be available on iCloud.

To turn on iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, go to Settings > Photos and toggle on the iCloud Photos switch.

3. Use the Recently Deleted folder:

When you delete a photo from your iPhone, it is not immediately removed from iCloud. Instead, it is moved to the Recently Deleted folder, where it will remain for 30 days before being permanently deleted.

To access the Recently Deleted folder, open the Photos app and tap on Albums > Recently Deleted. From here, you can select the photos you want to delete permanently or recover them if you accidentally deleted them.

4. Use the iCloud.com website:

If you prefer to delete photos from iCloud directly, you can do so by using the iCloud.com website. Simply log in to your iCloud account and select the Photos app. From here, you can view and delete photos stored in iCloud.

Wrapping Up

In conclusion, iCloud is a great way to store your photos and free up space on your iPhone. By turning on iCloud Photo Library, optimizing your storage, using the Recently Deleted folder, using the iCloud.com website, or a third-party app, you can easily delete photos from your iPhone while keeping them safe and secure in iCloud.
