The Google Tensor chipset on the Google Pixel 6 lineup was good, the Tensor 2 chipset on the Google Pixel 7 series is expected to be better but will the Google Tensor 3 chipset shake the tech world? Well, sources have related some details of Google’s Tensor 3 chip.
Details of Google’s Tensor 3 chip: what’s there to know?
According to folks at Galaxyclub, the Korean tech giant, Samsung and Google are in the testing and development phase of Google’s Tensor 3 chip. Furthermore, it was relayed that Google put the chip under a dev board called “Ripcurrent”. Google’s Tensor 3 chip’s model number seems to be in line with its predecessors as well.
The original Tensor chip has model number S5P9845, the second generation- S5P9855, and then the Tensor 3 is S5P9865. Reviewing the first Tensor chip, a deep analysis shows that a lot of Samsung’s Exynos architecture was employed while creating the chipset. But it might be more interesting if we got to see something different this time.
I mean, “Google is partnering with Mediatek or Qualcomm” isn’t a bad statement to hear. Meanwhile, we’re still in a grey area as to what the chip will be offering. Comparing the original Tensor chipset with its competition, you can say the chip lagged in connectivity and efficiency sections.
We’ve seen what Qualcomm pulled off with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and we just hope the Big G can close the gap with Google’s Tensor 3 chip. It is worth noting that the chip is expected sometime in 2024 to debut with Google Pixel 8. That said, let all details be taken with a pinch of salt till we get an official announcement.
