It’s been weeks since Google Camera 9.0 was released. Google has limited the app to Pixel devices running Android 14, and hence, only those on the Android 14 beta build have received the update. As expected, the Gcam 9.0 is now available, which works on devices running Android 14 and lower.
With Gcam 9.0, third-party Android phones will enjoy all the features introduced with the update to Pixel phones. The Google Camera 9.0 revamped the UI. It reorganized the camera and video modes and swapped the front camera and the gallery app button.
Accessing quick settings is now easy with a swipe up to improve users’ experience. Also, the shortcut button is now on the button left corner to address accessibility issues. You can now access video stabilization modes when you open Quick Settings.
The app delivered the exclusive zoom slider to Pixel 6, meaning with Gcam 9.0, the feature might work on other Android phones. And what seems unnoticed is the revamped theme icon to add a fresh look.
Download Gcam 9.0 on your Android phones
The Gcam 9.0 is designed to work on Android phones running Android 14 and lower. However, the app doesn’t seem to open on Pixel phones. Launching the app returns an error message “Camera keeps stopping.” Surprisingly, installing the same app on Samsung and Xiaomi phones shows it working perfectly.
Hence, if you’re using Pixel phones, you might want to wait for a new version of the Gcam 9.0 before installing. The latest version only works on third-party phones. To download, you should follow these links: Big Kaka | Shamim
