Whatsapp recently announced it’ll stop the app from working on some phones in the coming months. Perhaps, due to some features, it’s working on, which might not be compatible with these devices. They include companion mode, silent group exit, and rich links preview. The company is also working on the Edit button for Whatsapp on Android, iOs, and Desktop.
We have seen the “react to message” function deployed to everyone, but the Edit button for Whatsapp still has a long way before it’s official. The company is currently testing the feature on Android, but it’s expected to arrive on iOS and desktop.
From the screenshot by Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature that’ll allow you to edit a sent message. With that, you’ll be able to correct typos after sending a message instead of deleting and resending it. However, it’s unclear if there would be an edit history to check the edited version of the message.
For now, there wouldn’t be an edit history, but since the feature is still under development, a lot might change before the release. Also, it’s unclear when the Edit button for Whatsapp will be released to everyone.
How would the Edit button for Whatsapp work
The feature is quite simple, given the screenshot available. You just just have to press and hold the message you want to edit for the “Edit button” to pop up. Click on the button to edit your message.
