While Android Auto might be facing many issues, some of them are due to third-party apps and updates. The recent security patch released to Samsung phones could potentially disrupt Android Auto connection. However, there’s a way to ensure Android Auto continues to work correctly on your device.
Samsung started rolling out the November 2024 security patch update a few days ago. Aside from the monthly security fixes, the update improved Auto Blocker features with the potential to disrupt Android Auto operations. It can disable communication with devices connected via USB-C port when set to Maximum.
When you adjust the Auto Blocker setting to Maximum, you will not be able to use USB-C accessories except for chargers on your phone or Tablet. As a result, a wired Android Auto connection might not work or function properly.
If you experience any issues connecting to your car infotainment system, maybe you have set Auto Blocker to Maximum, though it’s not enabled by default. Of course, you can always check your current settings whenever there is a connection issue connecting to Android Auto with your Galaxy phone.

To ensure Android Auto continues working perfectly on your Galaxy phone, always check the Auto Blocker settings to ensure it’s not set to Maximum. Head to Settings>>Security and privacy>>Auto Blocker>>Maximum restrictions. There, toggle it off at the top of your display.
