It’s taking forever for Xiaomi to release the MIUI 12 build for the global Redmi Note 8 and Note 7, but the reason is simple. The update is not ready. It will start arriving for eligible devices when it’s ready. That has always been the reply given to users of these phones when they make inquiries on the Mi community forum. But that hasn’t stopped most people from asking, which is the reason why there are so many fake ETAs for MIUI 12 build for the Redmi Note 8 and Note 7.
This morning, a screenshot hinting at the possible arrival of MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 7 was posted on Facebook. It’s probably fake as up till now, we’re yet to see another user confirm receiving the update, nor did Xiaomi update their MIUI 12 update tracker. And now, according to Xiaomi & Xiaomi news, a telegram channel exclusive for Xiaomi related news. There’s a fake MIUI 12 build for the Redmi Note 8 and Note 7 circulating on the web.
It’s an alleged compiled MIUI 12 pilot build for the aforementioned devices. We recommend you disregard the report as it’s not from Xiaomi. The builds are fake, and according to the telegram channel, the versions aren’t considered as both pilots and public releases.
“Do not believe in any fake. Latest compiled builds for Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 7/7s:
Redmi Note 8
Global: V12.0.0.6.QCOMIXM
India: V12.0.0.3.QCOINXM
Redmi Note 7
Global: V12.0.0.2.QFGMIXM
India: V12.0.0.4.QFGINXM
These versions aren’t considered as both pilots and public releases.”

It would be of the best interest to patiently wait for the official release as frequent asking of ETA won’t quicken the arrival. The update will arrive when it’s ready, and we believe it to be towards the month-end.
