The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is off to a good start, with the chip powering the recently released Xiaomi 13 Lite. Currently, only a handful of phones are running the mid-range SoC, but it seems Qualcomm is set to release the Snapdragon 7 + Gen 1 chipset, which will be an improvement compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
Features of the Snapdragon 7 + Gen 1
The Snapdragon 7 + Gen 1 is set to appear next month, in “mid-to-late March,” according to leaker Digital Chat Station. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 was released in May of last year, however, it had little to no mainstream acceptance. The new SM7475 chipset will be produced on TSMC’s 4 nm node, as opposed to the vanilla Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 which was created on a Samsung process.
AnTuTu has discovered “SM7475,” or the Snapdragon 7 + Gen 1 processor, inside a Realme cellphone. Digital Chat Station believes the next processor will be a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Lite, and the aforementioned benchmark appearance confirms this, with the chipset generating performance levels comparable to the previous-generation Qualcomm chipset.
It, at the very least, ensures supremacy over its nearest opponent, MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200–a significant improvement over the connection between the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Dimensity 8100. It is uncertain which devices will run the Snapdragon 7 + Gen 1, however, it is likely to be more widely used than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. In addition to Realme, new rumors also indicate Xiaomi might equip the next Poco F5 with “SM7475”.
