The February 2022 security patch for Pixel phones is rolling out to a vast majority of Pixel smartphones – Pixel 4a, 4a 5G, 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, and 7 Pro. The Android 13 February patch dated 2023-02-01 resolves 17 security problems and the 2023-02-05 patch resolves 23. The severity of vulnerabilities ranges from high to critical.
According to Google’s most current Android Security & Privacy Year in Review, “no serious security vulnerabilities impacting the Android platform were publicly published with no security fix or mitigation available for Android devices.” Furthermore, there was an 84% year-over-year increase in security fixes during Q4 2018 compared to the previous year.
Following recent delays, the major carrier variation today is for T-Mobile (US) + T-Mobile MVNOS – Google Fi is expressly specified – in the dedicated bulletin for Google devices. The Pixel 4a has a unique build in Canada, while the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro have a different Telstra (Australia) edition.
