It’s been only a few days since the latest stable Android Auto was released, and Google is already rolling out a new build. The new Android Auto 9.8 update is exclusive for Beta testers and will only arrive on the stable channel in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, you can download the update using the link below, but is it worth it?
It’s not often that we see a stable update without a beta release first. The stable Android Auto 9.7 release was the first time we saw such a thing happen, and it seems to be a one-off, with Google already rolling out a beta build for its next Android Auto update. Unfortunately, the Android Auto 9.8 beta is rolling out with a changelog, making it hard to say the changes arriving with the build.
Meanwhile, since the Coolwalk redesign release, Google has been rolling out updates to address issues reported by users. Before the last update, there were reports of random disconnects and freezes. Aside from that, the app’s performance has been criticized, and other irregularities, which we believe the latest update is here to address. However, only beta users can access the update via the play store.

The Android Auto 9.8.1324 beta weighs about 37.3MB. It’s an update to optimize performance and resolve issues and didn’t bring any major changes. You might consider waiting for the stable build, given the bugs being reported by the app users. However, you can download the APK file here.
