Xiaomi officially announced the MIUI 13 Android skin. The much-anticipated upgrade comes with few features as the company is prioritizing improving system stability and performance. They have also released the first MIUI 13 close beta update, giving users a chance to have a first-hand experience with the newly released MIUI 13 build.
MIUI, after the release of MIUI 12, had many issues. That delayed the release of the current build as the company had to address these issues. They were able to fix the problems with the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, which the current build seems to complement. Going by the features of MIUI 13, which are merely improvements and optimization, the company continues to address issues faced by MIUI users.
They have further improved the core features of the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced – Atomized Memory, Liquid Storage, Focused Algorithm, Smart Balance. These improvements have seen some changes in apps fluency, which makes performance smooth. Of course, that’s from Xiaomi’s lab, but with the first MIUI 13 closed beta update, we will find out what has improved.
From the feedback so far, there are no virtual changes. The latest iteration of MIUI is said to have changed the control center, but we are yet to see that as those that have upgraded still have the old one. Meanwhile, there has been an introduction of new wallpapers, and a new privacy watermark.
The MIUI 13 closed beta update also adds a new MiSans font, but that seems to have messed things up. According to early adopters, the font is messed up when your language option is English. Nevertheless, you can continue with the installation, but backup your files before proceeding. It might interest you to know that nothing has changed, and you might wait for the next release before upgrading your device.
