It’s been a while since we heard of the Xiaomi system update causing some major damage. The last time something like this happened was during the Android 10 rollout for Mi A2 Lite that left some devices dead. However, the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro is currently causing so many issues for the European ROM users.

Xiaomi, a few days ago, released an update for the European ROM users of the device. As usual, it arrived for selected users but became available for the public in the last few days. It has since been pulled, after users reported some issues relating to boot loop. Although only the European branch of MIUI is experiencing the issue, you should keep away from all Redmi Note 8 Pro updates for now.

However, for those that have already upgraded to MIUI 12.0.3.0 QGGEUXM that’s caused the boot loop issue, you can perform a factory reset to fix that. Unfortunately, you’re going to lose all the device data, except, of course, you have got a backup. And, that’s the only way to get the device working, albeit the fix Xiaomi promised is coming.

You might save yourself some time by not exploring other options to fix the issue. Going by our previous report, there’s no working fix for the issue aside from performing a factory reset. Also, many users have confirmed the option as the only thing working at the moment, and sadly, it will result in loss of data.

It’s so sad what has happened, but it can happen to any OEM out there. However, Xiaomi phones seem to be having so many issues after each update lately, and it’s something the company needs to address as urgently. They have, however, acknowledged the Redmi Note 8 Pro boot loop issue and promised a fix.

Note: it’s not all Redmi Note 8 Pro users that are having boot loop issues. If your device works after the latest update, there’s no need for a factory reset. You can also follow the issue via the Mi Community forum using the source link.
