Xiaomi has improved when it comes to releasing updates as of when due. The company is arguably only behind Google and Samsung in rolling out the latest security patch update. However, with the recent development, the company is ahead of Google.
With Redmi K60 Ultra now set to receive four Android OS upgrades, the company moves ahead of Google, which promises three OS upgrades, but level with Samsung, which releases four OS updates. These three companies will support their phones for a minimum of five years with security patch updates.
How many updates will Redmi K60 Ultra receive?
Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra debuted a couple of days ago, running Android 13-based on MIUI 14. Hence, the device will receive up to Android 17, which will likley arrive in 2026. Of course, the device will receive security patch updates while waiting for these upgrades. According to the official announcement, Xiaomi will add the phone to their end-of-support list in 2028.
For now, only the Redmi K60 Ultra has been confirmed to receive four major OS updates. We expect the global version Xiaomi 13T Pro to receive the treatment and all the upcoming flagship devices.
