Google and Samsung remain the only smartphone companies with the longest software support for their phones. While the former promises seven years of support across the board, Samsung limits that to premium phones. However, six years of Android OS updates is not bad, as upcoming mid-range phones are now confirmed to get software support for an extended period.
Samsung has been teasing new phones – Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56. The latest teaser was a video posted on YouTube and X. While the video confirmed the coming of a new A-series device, none of the phones were on the video. However, we know the handsets will debut soon with a tweaked camera housing, according to recent leaks.
Nevertheless, the teaser says the A-series lineup has over 80 million customers. It goes head to head to list 6 OS updates, perhaps why many people are moving to the mid-range lineup. Initially, it was four years of OS updates, but that changed when they announced the Galaxy A16 with six years of OS upgrades.
Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 will get six Android OS updates

October last year was when Samsung announced six years of OS upgrades for their mid-range phones. This will be carried over to the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56. Unfortunately, we do not know when these phones will be unveiled, but we are sure about a few things.
Samsung will debut the duo with Android 15-based One UI 7 build. If that’s the case, the devices will receive up to Android 21, or whatever Google decides to name it. You can follow our social media platforms for updates on the phones.
