Samsung is about to finalize the release of One UI 7 to focus on stable One UI 8 after. The past few weeks have seen eligible devices spotted on the company’s servers running the upcoming OS. As expected, the Galaxy A36 Android 16-based One UI 8 build has appeared to confirm the eligibility of the device.

Samsung phones are supported for over six years, and since the Galaxy A36 debuted in March with Android 15, it will be among the first phones to get an Android 16 upgrade. That coincides with the latest report of the device appearing on the servers running the upcoming Android OS based on One UI 8.
Details of Galaxy A36 Android 16-based One UI 8
According to Taru Vats on X (Twitter), the first One UI 8 build for the Galaxy A36 has appeared on the company’s server. Since it’s the first one ever, it means the development is still in the early stages. Nevertheless, things can move quickly as we have witnessed over the years, and we are counting on that for the Gala A36 users.
As for who has access to the build, it is probably the developers. Since Samsung does not organize beta programs for mid-range phones, developers are always tasked with ensuring the build is stable before its release. Hence, we might not see a beta build.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A36 Android 16-based One UI 8 build currently on internal testing has a software version A366BXXU4BYG1. Unfortunately, we do not have any other information concerning it, but we expect an official confirmation in the coming days. Samsung will announce One UI 8 later this month and we hope to get the release schedule.
