Samsung and Google are probably the two Android OEMs with the longest support for their phone. Unlike the latter, the former has phones that don’t get their maximum support period. These phones are supported for a few years before being dropped, and this is the case with the Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A41, and Galaxy M01.
The Galaxy A51 arrived in April 2020, running Android 10. It is currently running Android 13, meaning three OS upgrades arrived for the phone and a monthly security patch build. Unfortunately, the phone will not get One UI 6.1, like Galaxy A41 and Galaxy M01. The duo only received two OS upgrades, but the journey has ended.
Moving forward, Samsung will not release any updates to these phones. However, the company might release a fixed build if there is a serious security vulnerability. Unfortunately, we don’t see that happen often, which suggests we might never see a new update for these phones.
We recommend moving to a new Galaxy phone or installing Custom ROM with regular security support. You risk many things when your device is not getting monthly security patches to address any vulnerabilities.
