It has been months since Samsung started testing One UI 7, given recent reports we have seen of Galaxy phones running the upcoming upgrade. In the last few weeks, mid-range phones have been spotted on Geekbench benchmark, running Android 15-based One UI 7, meaning work is ongoing for the upgrade.
Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54 One UI 7 update, of course, are still beta builds. The latest entry in Geekbench is recorded as June 27, meaning the development of these builds has been ongoing for some time now. That’s not surprising, given the time it takes to develop and integrate One UI with Android OS.
As new features are added to One UI, more time is required to achieve a stable build. A good example is the delay of One UI 6.1.1, expected to arrive with the August security patch. While some mid-range phones are getting the update, premium Galaxy phones tipped to receive the update as part of One UI 6.1.1 have yet to get the upgrade.
In addition, it has delayed the release of One UI 7 Public beta. We expected to see the update in the coming week, but it might take longer now, given that One UI 6.1.1 will happen before. Nevertheless, it’s good to know that Samsung is working on these upgrades, and we expect the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54 One UI 7 update to be among the first releases.
