Samsung recently released the Galaxy S23 One UI 6.1 update which brings the Galaxy AI features. Unfortunately, not all the features available for Galaxy S24 series users arrived for the S23 units with the update, and we expect Galaxy S22 to miss out on some of these features.
There was no doubt the Galaxy S22 series would receive the One UI 6.1 update, but there was a doubt whether they would receive the Galaxy AI features. It was confirmed some weeks ago that some of the features will be coming to the device and we now have a timeframe for the release.
According to a moderator on the Samsung community website, the Galaxy S22 One UI 6.1 update will start seeding in May. It will arrive with the Galaxy AI features and will be available for all the phones in the S22 series.
If you use the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, or Galaxy S22 Ultra, you should expect the One UI 6.1 update in early May. Interestingly, the update will also arrive for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip5 4, Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
We expect these phones to get Galaxy AI features like Circle to Search, Generative Edit, Live Translate, and Summary. And while, the Galaxy S21 series phones will receive the One UI 6.1 update, they will not be eligible for some of the Galaxy AI features.
The Galaxy S21 and Samsung’s 2021 Foldables are expected to receive One UI 6.1 update in May as well. These devices include Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip5 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3.
