Samsung started seeding the April security patch update with the Galaxy S22 a couple of days, even before Google announced the security and privacy fixes. The South Korean tech company has since delivered the update to a handful of its phones, including the S21 unlocked versions. According to reports, the Galaxy S21 on T-Mobile has started picking up the April security patch that patches about 88 security and privacy vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy S21 on T-Mobile April 2022 security patch update is hitting the S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. These models are getting the update with firmware version numbers G991USQ5CVCG, G996USQ5CVCG, and G998USQ5CVCG, respectively. And as usual with OTAs rollouts, the current release is staged and would take some time before hitting your device, but you can force it via the trick below.
The update from the screenshot above comes in a 432.05MB package and has bumped the Android patch level to 1 April 2022. Supposedly, it has improved performance and stability and might have introduced some features, according to the changelog. There have been bug fixes, which include over 88 security and privacy vulnerabilities. If you are on a T-Mobile carrier, you can check for a new update via the settings app.

The update is already rolling out but will take some delays before hitting all eligible units. If you can’t wait for it to arrive on your device, you can navigate to settings>>software update>>Download and install. The device will check for a new update, and you should tap download, after which you can decide to either install now or schedule install.
